Try the facebook group? More discussion there... I don't know the more detailed answers myself, being a newbie. The rules do say that only polyester is approved for one-design class jibs, polyester or kevlar is allowed for genoas in other races.

:: Thanks for reply but it does not really answer the
:: questions....The rules tell what is allowed in terms of
:: measurements.....not whether i should get a 128% or 150%
:: overlap for racing in 20 knots, or what type of cut
:: works best or if some plastic based materials work well
:: over dacron....
::
:: COME ON PEOPLE - THERE A LOT OF VIEWS ON THESE POSTS -
:: HAS NO ONE RACED A SANTANA 22 IN THE BAY?
::
:: :: All spelled out in the class rules
::
:: :: http://santana22.org/static/clsrules.pdf
:: ::
:: ::
:: ::
:: :: :: There are a number of different overlap sizes (125, 150
:: :: :: etc) materials and cuts for the santana 22 jibs on the
:: :: :: various sail maker sites.
:: :: ::
:: :: :: What is the standard jib overlap size used for racing?
:: ::
:: :: :: is there much difference in the crosscut versus the
:: :: :: laminar sails?
:: ::
:: :: :: Is mylar allowed?
:: :: ::
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Thanks
