J, You don't have to splice the wire, just take the old one to a rigging shop (Svens) and have them make a duplicate. If you are looking for a site that has really good solutions for just about any problem you can come up with. Check in on the old Pearson Triton site. It's the best I've seen on the net.

:: I have thought of doing this myself. First, because the
:: ease of doing so, going from rope to wire is beyond my
:: splicing experience. Glad you brought it up though, I'm
:: going to search the threads for the info. I remember you
:: once mentioning how our site lacked non race
:: informational elements. If that's what we want, it falls
:: on us to create it. I'm considering Google Plus, and
:: there is Facebook ... Yada yada yada talk is cheap. I'll
:: do some homework over the next couple of days, and
:: share.

:: Later,

:: :: In reading thru the messages posted I see several people
:: :: changing from wire halyards to rope. I don't understand
:: :: why anyone would want to do that. Could someone explain
:: :: it to me??? Jim
