P.S. The floater will be cheaper at the machine as the parts are aluminum and cheaper and faster to machine parts for.

:: Jim,
::
:: Thank you for the suggestion....it's very likely that
:: I'll have to do just that....
::
:: :: P.S. You might want to start with a handle that
:: :: floats!!!
:: ::
:: :: :: Probably your best bet is to find an 8" handle and have
:: :: :: a machinist modify it for you so it will work.
:: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Does anybody have an older model Lewmar '8' winch handle
:: :: :: :: for sale?
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Inevitably it happened....loaned boat out...crew dropped
:: :: :: :: the winch handle overboard. The same handle I'd lovingly
:: :: :: :: taken care of for 13 years!
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Lewmar said, "good luck finding one"
:: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Steve Seal said, "hmm, that may be a problem"
:: :: ::
:: :: :: :: West Marine said, "hmm, better check with some of the
:: :: :: :: consignment stores (ie Blue Pelican) so I've left a
:: :: :: :: message etc.
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Help, help, help.
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Most importantly of all thanks for learning of this and
:: :: :: :: hopefully responding.
