Subject: Want/NEED new rudder!

Hi Tom,

As far as I know, the only way to get a class-legal, new rudder, is to go through the W.D. Schock Company themselves. I spoke to a fellow at Foss Foam which used to make class rudders for the Santanas and he said that Schock took the molds back when they started making the new boats in 2001. Foss (boatrudder.com) still makes a rudder for the S22, but it is a little longer and narrower than the original. Since I don't race my boat, that is the route that I went, and it has worked out quite well. (One word of caution, unless they have your boat in front of them, it is hard for them to get the angle on the top edge of the rudder right. Apparently there was a large amount of variation in how the rudder shafts were mounted. I had to re-cut and glass over the top edge myself to make it fit correctly). Best of luck,

Steve

:: So...I'm looking for a rudder or a fabricator or

:: Any and all help or leads are much appreciated.

:: Thanks
