Hello all-

About a year ago I bought "Go Dog Go", a 1971 hull tuna out of Pier 39. We're still there, but the other day my rudder, already on it's third incarnation, failed. We made it back, but the post that goes into the foam/glass had developed a slip which finally failed. Long story short, the rudder is out and now in need of either what could be a risky repair (by pulling out the post and re bedding it in the foam, maybe with a couple bolts through the sides this time?) or i need a new rudder.

so, anyone been down this road before? this particular rudder, as i said, has broken, and been welded before. fixing it is obviously a tricky thing to advise on without seeing it, but a new rudder is an option.

anyone know of a tuna on blocks somewhere being scrapped for parts, or have ideas about giving a new life to this rudder?
