I believe that the earlier hulls are considered lighter by many racers, while later numbers, such as my #581, are thought to be heavier and more solid. It is worth noting that Mark Lowry and Soliton did extremely well with one of the later models (somewhere in the 580's, I think). Keep in mind that some of the earlier hulls had aluminum chainplates and, I've heard, galvanized keel bolts. Neither is acceptable. Contact Jan Gryger about mast beam replacement; he's done it.
