I've seen the posters advertising these events so I thought I'd pass on a head's up for those driving to Monterey for the Nationals next weekend so you can plan accordingly. The annual Gilroy Garlic Festival is being held on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Nationals, and although I've never attended, I've heard of MAJOR traffic impact to Hwy 101 in the Gilroy area. Also, the annual Moss Landing Antique Fair is being held on the Sunday of the Nationals starting at 7:30 AM. This event always causes MAJOR traffic delays on Hwy 1 in the Moss Landing area.
