Hey Tom, I don't feel comfortable posting the prices since I'm pretty sure that's proprietary info. However, I will say that he gave me a Winter special price for the mainsail and class jib which together made it competitive package compared with other sail makers.

:: What did Steve Hogin charge you for your sails?

:: :: Pei,
:: ::
:: :: For what it's worth when I bought my boat the numbers on
:: :: the sail were the same as on the hull, i.e. 727. And
:: :: that's what I had put on my new sails. And if it helps,
:: :: my hull # is located on the starboard transom. BTW, I
:: :: checked out the sail warehouse but they insist you
:: :: measure. I didn't want to risk mis-measuring so I
:: :: figured for a few extra bucks I'd have Steve Hogin cut
:: :: me a new set. He's reasonable, accessible and had an
:: :: excellent turn-around time.

:: ::
:: :: :: I found this place on the web
:: :: :: http://thesailwarehouse.com that sells sails at a good
:: :: :: price. Any experience with this outfit?
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Anyway, if I want to get the new sails race-legal, my
:: :: :: understanding is that I should put the "S" insignia and
:: :: :: sail number on the mainsail (both sides).
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Is the sail number the same as the hull number?
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Also, I couldn't find any hull number painted and/or
:: :: :: etched anywhere on the boat. I think previous owners had
:: :: :: painted it over, scraped it off, who knows what.
:: :: ::
:: :: :: The hull number on record with DMV is "523" (year 1970).
:: :: :: Is that the number I should put on the mainsail?
:: :: ::
:: :: :: thx
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Pei
