I am a very happy new owner of a well-loved Santana 22 down here in Santa Cruz. It is in very good shape, but after having it out a couple of times I think I need to make a few changes to the rigging. First of all I need to route all the lines into the cockpit - I just do not feel very safe up there at the mast base trying to reef the main when the swell is high.
I am going to route the lines through the two deck organizers from the mast and around the cockpit entrance. There are two of them available - one with the safe operating load of about 1000 and another with about 2000lbs. Does anyone know how much load the halyards and the reef lines will be under at the max?
Thanks, Eugene
