I'm thinking of doing away with mine. If you look at any of the 'new' boats you'll notice that they mount the jam cleat on the back side of the cabin-top. If I can figure out how this works you are welcome to have my old "cleat plates".

:: heavy winds keep three wraps on the winch, and have the
:: winch handle available in case you need to take the
:: pressure off the cam cleats to release the sheet. And...
:: fly a more appropriate sail in heavier weather
