Thanks. After lossening the bolts, I assumed I would be able to pull it off; tried twisting. Didn't even occur to me to tap it upwards and I was afraid of forcing things to the point of damage. The hardware has two elements that I know nothing about; what looks like a pin and a square ... Didn't see Teek in the Roster and the look up info link isn't working. I'll look into posting the pics. Thaks, J

:: Don't use a hacksaw. Just unbolt everything and then
:: pound the cap off the shaft from underneath. It isn't
:: too hard, just have something soft underneath if you're
:: on land.
::
:: :: I've helped drop a few rudders. Where are the pics and
:: :: what is the question?
:: ::
:: :: :: I have some pictures of the top of my rudder "shaft."
:: :: :: The piece that the tiller assembly bolts to, is
:: :: :: something of a mystery to me. Could use some help
:: :: :: figuring out how to disassemble so I can drop the
:: :: :: rudder. Don't want to break anything or use a hacksaw.

:: :: :: Thanks,
