Subject: Lifting bracket on keel bolt/nuts

The hard points for my Santana are on the first and last pair of bolts. I believe this is the factory set-up. Not sure if the middle pairs would work but why not use the first and last pairs? You're gonna hate using a sling and so will others who are waiting for their turn at the hoist. Tom Fun Zone #664

:: Hi

:: I have just removed/replaced the original steel nuts and
:: washers from the keel bolts on the inside cabin bilge. A
:: truly fun job. What I would like to do is put lifting
:: brackets on the second and third pair of bolts and use
:: that to hoist the boat.
::
:: Is this feasable?

:: Will those 4- 3/4" keel bolts be able to lift the 2500lb
:: boat?

:: Will I be able to balence the boat from those locations?
::
:: Would a sling be a better method of lifting the boat?

:: I am hoping to move my slip and to use the Brickyard
:: landing hoist.
